This technical deep dive, held in two sessions, covered the foundational Internet protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), including details about how BGP has, and may, evolve.

Part 1

The first session at 05:00-06:00 UTC on 17 March provided protocol designers insight into a foundational Internet protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

Part 2

Presenters

Jeffrey Haas is the co-chair for the Inter-Domain Routing (IDR) and Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD )working groups, and has been working on BGP for over 20 years. His day job is split between code, standards, and customers.

John Scudder is a Distinguished Engineer at Juniper Networks. He began his career in network operations, working on the NSFNET at Merit Network, Inc, when he attended his first IETF (21, in Atlanta). Subsequently he has focused on routing protocol design and implementation, particularly though not solely BGP.
