Routing Requirement and Protocol Work in ITU-T Study Group 15 Q.14/15 is beginning to define connection routing protocols for use in ASON networks. Architecture and requirements for the Automatically switched transport network (ASON) have been specified in G.8080 (11/2001). A set of protocol-independent high level routing architecture and requirements has been specified in G.7715 (6/2002). ASON architecture in G.8080 has been further progressed (3/15/2003).
