IAB News We Can Use 6. Management Issues 6.1 Acceptance of media-type registration from standards Organization: ZigBee Alliance [IANA #596117] (Barry Leiba/ Michelle Cotton) The management issue was discussed. The IESG asks IANA to process this media-type request, and to add this organization to the 'Standards- related organizations that have registered Media Types in the Standards Tree.' 6.2 Acceptance of media-type registration from standards Organization: W3C [IANA #598348] (Barry Leiba/Michelle Cotton) The management issue was discussed. The IESG asks IANA to process this media-type request, and to add this organization to the 'Standards- related organizations that have registered Media Types in the Standards Tree.' 6.3 E-vote: Support IETF Chair Signing the Modern Global Standards Paradigm Affirmation (Russ Housley) This management item records in the minutes the results of an IESG e-vote. The Last Call on this topic has finished. There are no strong objections to the IETF Chair and the IAB Chair signing the Affirmation. In fact, many people spoke in support of the action. Question: Do you support the IETF Chair signing the Modern Global Standards Paradigm Affirmation? (YES, NO OBJECTION, ABSTAIN, DISCUSS, RECUSE) Ronald Bonica [ YES ] Stewart Bryant [ YES ] Gonzalo Camarillo [ ] Benoit Claise [ ] Ralph Droms [ NO OBJECTION ] (was DISCUSS) Wesley Eddy [ NO OBJECTION ] Adrian Farrel [ YES ] Stephen Farrell [ YES ] Brian Haberman [ YES ] Russ Housley [ YES ] Barry Leiba [ YES ] (was DISCUSS) Pete Resnick [ NO OBJECTION ] (was DISCUSS) Robert Sparks [ YES ] Martin Stiemerling [ ] Sean Turner [ YES ] 6.4 Response to TUE protocol # assignment request (Sean Turner) The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved the following response: The IESG has reviewed the TUE (TePA Universal Encapsulating) protocol number assignment request for a protocol number in the Internet Protocol (IP) Protocols Number registry. We understand that the request is motivated by the efforts to publish TUE in ISO/IEC JTC1/ SC6/WG7. The IESG is unwilling to assign a protocol number until there is an approved document. An experimental value can be used until the document is approved. However, without careful analysis the protocol, for example, appears to provide the same services as IPsec, and if that is the case, it would not be eligible for a protocol number. 6.5 Designated Ports Expert (Michelle Cotton) The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved Lars Eggert (lars@netapp.com) as a designated expert for Ports. 7. Working Group News ----------------------------------------------- * Please see the ID Tracker (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/) for details on documents that are under discussion by the IESG.
