    Minutes
    -------

    1. The minutes of the May 22 Teleconference were approved. Steve to
    place in public archives.

    2. The IESG agreed to the text of the IESG Note to be included with
the publication of Application REQuested IP over ATM (AREQUIPA)
    <draft-rfced-info-almesberger-00.txt>:

This RFC has not had the benefit of the rigorous peer review that
is part of the process in an IETF working group. The technology
it describes has been implemented and is now undergoing testing.
It would be wise to analyze the results of this testing as well
as to understand alternatives before committing to this approach
to IP over ATM with QoS guarantees.

    3. The IESG approved publication of RTP Payload Format for H.263 Video
Streams <draft-ietf-avt-rtp-payload-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
    Steve to send announcement.

    4. The IESG approved publication of IMAP4 IDLE command
<draft-leiba-imap-idle-02.txt> s a Proposed Standard. Steve to send
    announcement.

    5. The IESG approved creation of the Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (manet) Working
    Group.

    6. The IESG approved creation of the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol
    (vrrp) Working Group.

    7. The IESG approved publication of Core Based Trees (CBT) Multicast Routing
    Architecture <draft-ietf-idmr-cbt-arch-06.txt> as an Experimental
    Protocol. Steve to send announcement.

    8. The IESG approved publication of Core Based Trees (CBT version 2)
    Multicast Routing -- Protocol Specification
<draft-ietf-idmr-cbt-spec-09.txt> as an Experimental Protocol. Steve to
    send announcement.

    9. The IESG approved publication of Internet Cache Protocol (ICP),
Version 2 <draft-wessels-icp-v2-03.txt> as an Informational RFC.
    Steve to send announcement.

    10. The IESG discussed complaints raised pertaining to an individual's
submission of two documents for publication as experimental. The
consensus was that the subject material was in the charter of a
active IETF working group, and that publication of any documents
(i.e. not limited to this particular submission) related to this
technology prior to the the WG's efforts would be premature. Fred
    to send response.

    11. Steve reported that discussions are underway to reschedule the IETF
meeting in Adelaide for spring of 2000, following a IETF meeting in
Norway (summer) and then a US meeting in the fall of 1999. No one
    thought this presented a problem.

Scott asked Steve to send out the dates of future IETF meeting,
regardless of status (confirmed, tentative, hopeful, no idea). Steve
    stated he would do so.

    12. The issue of "stalled" RFCs was raised. Stalled RFCs are standards
track documents that have remained in their current status for more
than two years. Steve was asked to gather this information and
prepare an update for the IESG. A subsequent request expanded the
selection to include those that have met the minimum time period (i.e.
    ready for advancement).

    13. As many of the IESG will be at INET 97, the regularly scheduled
meeting was cancelled. Next meeting will probably be July 10.
