    Minutes
    -------

    1. The IESG approved the minutes of the June 8 teleconference. Coya to
    place in Shadow directories.

    2. At the request of the Area Director, discussion on RTP: A Transport
    Protocol for Real-Time Applications <draft-ietf-avt-rtp-07.txt,
.ps>, a candidate for Proposed Standard, was placed on hold until a
companion document from the WG is submitted.

    3. The IESG approved the publication of Architecture of WHOIS++ Service
<draft-ietf-wnils-whois-arch-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard. There
were concerns raised about the capability to scale, and the IESG
felt that this subject needed to be addressed (demonstrated) before
the document is considered for standards track activity.

The IESG also approved the publication of Whois and Network
    Information Lookup Service Whois++
    <draft-ietf-wnils-whois-lookup-01.txt> as an Informational RFC.

Coya to draft additional text to be included with the Protocol
Action and send it to the Area Directors for review. Once the final
text is approved, Coya to send announcement.

    4. The IESG tabled discussion on the creation of the Remote
Authentication Dial-In User Service (radius) Working Group. Jeff
raised objections that need to be reviewed and discussed further.

Bradner and O'Dell to work with Schiller to revise charter.

    5. The IESG had no problem with the publication of SMTP Service
Extensions for Transmission of Large and Binary MIME
    <draft-ietf-mailext-smtp-binary-07.txt> as an Experimental Protocol.

    Coya to send announcement.

    6. Jeff Schiller wanted more time to review "The Exponential Security
System TESS: An Identity-Based Cryptographic Protocol for
Authenticated Key-Exchange" draft sent to the RFC Editor. Coya to
    notify the RFC Editors.

    7. The IESG discussed the Best Current Practices document prepared by
Jon Postel, Tony Li, and Yakov Rekhter. The consensus was that it
should be made available as an Internet-Draft. Once done, a Last
    Call will be issued.

    8. The IESG approved creation of the Mime - X.400 Gateway (mixer) WG
in the Applications Area. The IAB has until June 27 to raise any
objections. If none are received, Coya to send announcement.

    9. The IESG approved creation of the Routing Policy System (rps) WG in
the Operational Requirements Area. The IAB has until June 27 to
raise any objections. If none are received, Coya to send
    announcement.
