EKR questioned why we needed yet another mechanism for demuxing (given the mechanisms already in STUN). Ongoing discussion with overall view seeming to be to keep usage of channel #. - Discussion around whether length should be set to 0 for UDP. - Discussion on channel allocation and the lack of a de-allocation mechanism. - Rohan: "Allocation" on "Channel Allocation" should really be "Binding". - Ongoing discussion of changes. - Point made that there should be migration path to IPv6. - NAT Reboot case not addressed. - Open Issue #1: Bandwidth param is very underspecified - Is anyone using this or plan to? Would like to have it removed. - Discussion - Cullen, purpose was more than load management. - ACTION: Ad-hoc meeting will be called after this meeting. ===== 16:45 SCTP (Michael Tuexen and Randall Stewart, 10) draft-stewart-behave-sctpnat-03 draft-xie-behave-sctp-nat-cons-03 - Discussion: How does a client know it is behind a NAT? - Jonathan - why do you want this much pain in your life? Why do you want SCTP over IP versus over UDP? (Good bit of discussion.) - Ken Toney indicated that he just came from 3GPP meetings where they need this specification in order for 4G phones to work. - SCTP needed for multi-homing, which can't be done with TCP and UDP. - ACTION: Dan Wing to talk after meeting with Randall and Magnus to sort out how to bring this into workgroup or not. ===== 17:00 DCCP (Remi Denis-Courmont, 10) draft-denis-behave-nat-dccp-00 - Solution 1: modify the NAT - Solution 2: tunneling - Does BEHAVE want this to move forward? - (Discussion was vigorous.) - ACTION: Discussion to occur in DCCP working group tomorrow about tunneling.
