    5. IAB News We Can Use
    6. Management Issues

Raeburn as the IANA Expert for RFC 3961.

    copy to the IESG.

6.2 Request to remove Dean Anderson's posting privileges
to the IETF & dnsop mail lists (David Kessens)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG received a
request from Dave Crocker to take action under RFC 3683
against Dean Anderson. David Kessens will shepherd this
request. The IESG noted that individual WG Chairs have
the right to suspend posting rights under RFC 3934.

6.3 Discuss and potentially approve RAI area (Ted Hardie)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved,
via an override vote, the formation of the Real-Time
    Applications and Infrastructure (RAI) Area.

David Kessens voted against the creation of this new area
because he has serious concerns that the current IESG is
already too large to operate efficiently. He felt that
the IESG should have studied possible alternatives that
would have no need for additional ADs.

Brian Carpenter stated that the IESG had to decide immediately
due to the NomCom schedule but that we should indeed study
organizational and operational steps to improve IESG
efficiency, with the aim of finalizing changes in an IESG
    Retreat next spring.

6.4 RAI and message to NomCom (Brian Carpenter)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG agreed on the
text of the summary for the NomCom regarding the expertise
desired of the candidates selected for open IESG positions.
Action item: Brian Carpenter will send the summary of the
expertise desired of the candidates selected for open IESG
positions, including the ADs for the new RAI Area, to the
Secretariat. The IETF Executive Director will forward the
    summary to the NomCom.

6.5 Pull draft-hoffman-rfc3664bis-04 from RFC Editor's Queue (Russ Housley)

The management issue was discussed. The IESG approved pulling
draft-hoffman-rfc3664bis-04 from the RFC Editor's Queue.
Action item: Russ Housley will prepare a message to the IETF
Announcement List rescinding the approval of draft-hoffman-rfc3664bis-04.
The Secretariat will send the message to the list on behalf of the IESG
with a copy to the RFC Editor.
